Riccardo Ancona (Rome, 1997) is a sound artist, music researcher and teacher. He is involved in a set of practices such as acousmatic music, live coding, experimental theater, electroacoustic improvisation, and algorithmic composition.
He graduated at
CREA (Research Centre for Audiovisual Processing) with a thesis on the potentialities of live coding, then moved to the
Institute of Sonology of Den Haag for a research master exploring the perception of sonic materialities in process-based collaborative improvisation.
Currently living in Rome, where he works as professor assistant of Electroacoustic Composition at the Licinio Refice Conservatory of Frosinone, his activities involve pedagogy and mediation of the history and practices of electroacoustic and computer music, sound design for theatre shows, museums, and archeological sites, academic research in new technologies for sound processing, critical writing and curatorship.
